problem in erasing flash of 28027

As the flash plugin reported, the device is locked. Locked device doesn't warrant a damaged device. When the device is locked, you won't be able erase / program / read the valid contents of the flash. You can easily check whether the device is locked by reading addresses 0x3F7FF8 - 0x3F7FFF. If they read back 0x0000's then the device is locked.

Please try unlocking the device by entering valid password into 0xAE0 - 0xAE7 (or) by entering the valid password in flash plugin.

I read the flash and they read back 0x0000.

however, what is the valid passpward?the board is a TI demo HVPSFB kit, I never did any password/flash related things, basiclly I just followed the procedures in the user guide.

So, yes the device is locked.

Are you using about HVPSFB_User's Guide_v1.0.pdf ? Can you let us know the .out file you programmed into F28027?

I tried the second controlled board of the kit, the first time it worked and then it occured the same mistakes as the first one did.during this I only applied 12v to be safe.

so it look like it is kind of firmware problems, not hardware.

I tried programming HVPSFB_PCMC.out file you sent into F28027 device. The .out as such doesn't seem to be program the password into flash. Did you enter the passwords manually in CCS Flash plugin? (or) Did you make any modifications to the code?

Error message you sent: C28xx: Flash Programmer: Warning: The configured device (TMS320F28027), does not match the detected device ().

Based on this error message,it looks like the device you have is NOT F28027. This can be easily verified by checking the PART ID. Can you please send me the contents of 0x3D7FFF?

it is 0000

Sorry, my bad.  On a locked device you won't be able to read the PART ID. It should read back as 0x0000's.

Which flash programming tool are you using?

I am using code composer version 4 with the TI demo board and it worked  for a few times before.

now two boards are not working and returned the same error information.

the device on the demo board is TMS320F28027PTT indeed, it could be read on the top of the chip.

Okay then. We need to check the flash plugin settings. Did you try opening the On-chip flash tool (Tools -> On-chip flash)?

Please make sure to have the CSM password section as shown below.

Anything other than all 0xFFFF's in this section will lock the flash.

it is exactly like what you showed here.

just try to confirm my CCS is working fine,so I tried Piccolo MCU controlStick using code composer to reprogram the flash, it works.

so it looked like it is a problem of the HVPSFB project, either the hardware or firmware;

for hardware, I already tried two boards and they behave the same.

can TI help double check the demo project?

or my last choice is to replace the MCU with a blank new one.

Hello,

I have found that CCS could accidently put 28027 on the control board of HVPSFB demo kit into protected flash mode, it happens to me 3 times during  simple task of reprogramming the chips.

I am sure I didn't touch anything in the code or so, there must be something related to CCS or the control board.

everytime this happens, I have to replace it with a new chip.
