TMDXIDDK379D: TMDXIDDK379D hardware issue with CAN (swapped RX and TX)

Part Number: TMDXIDDK379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1050

Tool/software:

Hello all,

Just started to work with IDDK on the CAN bus, after not receiving anything from the board, it seemed there is a hardware issue, as can be seen, the CAN_TX and CAN_RX are swapped at the schematic level ( never do this please :((( ) , then to the ISO1050 we have a wrong connection of CANTX and CANRX subsequently , do you confirm this or I'm missing something here ( I hope not :) )

I'm sending dummy packets to the CANTX, but I see nothing, it seems ISO1050 doesn't like inputs at its output Slight smile

ISO1050 datasheet:

and of course, the symbols are self-explanatory:

do you confirm this? Shall I proceed with the re-work and swap those connections somehow?

John

  • John,

Thank you for catching and notifying this hardware bug!

Yes - you can proceed with the re-work and swap those connections. You can carefully lift both legs of this IC using solder iron and use jumper wire

    Apologies for inconvenience!

    Regards,

    Sumit

  • Hello @Sumit Patil1,

Thank you for the confirmation, will proceed accordingly.
