TMS320F28P659DK-Q1: XCMP mode of 28P65 MCU.

Part Number: TMS320F28P659DK-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Experts,

Good day

According to the technical manual of 28P65 MCU, when XCMP mode is enabled, the synchronization function of epwm must be turned off. Does this mean that for a full bridge converter, the same carrier cannot be used for modulation?

Regards,

Joselito Go

  • Hi Joselito,

Could you send a screenshot or quote of the section in the TRM that indicates this? It's possible you can do a one-time synchronization when TBPHS is updated which may result in a jitter for one cycle.

    Thank you,

    Luke

  • Hi Luke,

Please refer to the below response from the customer.

Sorry for the late. The screenshot is here.

At present, I am not using the TBPHS register, only using the COMPARE value for phase shifting. When initializing EPWM, I can perform a synchronization. I want to know if the XCMP mode is enabled, which means each EPWM module is independent of each other. Will the internal delay of the chip affect the consistency of the carrier wave of different EPWM modules?

    Regards,

    Joselito Go

  • Hi Joselito,

If you ensure the TBCTR of all EPWM modules is 0 before enabling TBCLKSYNC, there should be no delay between different EPWM modules.

    Thank you,

    Luke
