Thanks for reaching out on the E2E forum. I expect the NNPU(we are actually going to change this name slightly to NPU at RTM) full production date to be late 3Q/early 4Q of this year. At that time we will also release full tool chain support for NPU on TI.com.

Will the NPU be a coprocessor like the CLA or will it be an extension of the instruction set like the TMU?

Ari,

It is a separate co-processor, using GSx RAM to hold variables and instructions.
