TMS320F280037: custom boot mode

Part Number: TMS320F280037

Tool/software:

I need to disable the boot mode config GPIO and boot to flash, exactly the example in section 4.5.3.1 in the technical reference manual SPRUIW9B.  The technical manual describes programming BOOTPIN_CONFIG register.

In the past I have used the Tools/on chip flash tool in the CCS debug perspective to do this during development.  However, there is no reference to BOOTPIN_CONFIG in the memory window although on chip flash does show GPREG(BOOTCTRL) section with GPREG1-4 at address range 0x78008 through 0x7800e.  I cannot find an address for BOOTPIN_CONFIG in either the tech ref manual or datasheet so I don't know what location to program.

What am I overlooking?

Thanks

  • Hi,

What you should be writing to is the User OTP address for the Z1-OTP-BOOTPIN-CONFIG as per the device documentation (TRM snippet below). The GPREG addresses are read-only, but the On-Chip flash tool should show the OTP addresses next to the Boot ROM register name:

  • Table 4-14 cleared things up.  FWIW the examples in 4.5.3.x reference BOOTPIN_CONFIG and the tables use BOOTPIN-CONFIG so searching for one does not find the other.  I also did not notice that the on-chip flash tool uses the register name with the user OTP address, seems like there should be a section for each as shown in table 4-14.

    Thanks for your help.
