I am currently working on understanding the Ethernet/EtherCAT protocol. To achieve this, I have been examining the example codes for implementing EtherCAT on the F28P65x controller. In order to successfully run the code on the control card, I require two additional software tools provided by Beckhoff: the SSC Tool (ET9300 | EtherCAT Slave Stack Code) and TwinCAT (ESC configuration tool and master device).
The SSC tool requires an ETG Membership, which, although free, cannot be obtained on an individual basis. Without the SSC Tool, I am unable to access the slave stack files, which significantly hinders my ability to understand the protocol.
After installation of TwinCAT, the software is indicating that the device does not have real-time ethernet capabilities. Are there any workarounds for this issue?
