TMS320F28P550SJ: The CMPSS1 DACL output pin

Hi champs,

In datasheet, we say there are DACA_OUT(PIN-23 of QFP-100) and DACB_OUT(PIN 22 of QFP-100) pins.

However, F28P55x devices support only one buffered DAC and one DAC out from CMPSS(the CMPSS1 DACL), is it correct? Is the DACB_OUT a typo in datasheet?

Another question is that I don't find the pin out for the DACL out from CMPSS1, which pin can be used as this function please?

    Hi Luke,

    Thanks for your patience.

    Your understanding is correct. There are two DAC output available on the pins for this device. DACB_OUT comes from CMPSS1 DAC Output and DACA_OUT comes from Buffered DAC Output. The analog signal description is given in Table 6-14 in datasheet.

    As you can see in Figure 5-2 in datasheet, Pin 22 has DACB_OUT and Pin 23 has DACA_OUT.

    To double check, the DACB_OUT in datasheet is actually means the CMPSS1 DACL output, is it correct?
    If this is the case, I think maybe we need to modify the wording so that customers won't be confused, how do you think?

    Yes Luke, it is CMPSS1 DACL output. 

    Thanks for your feedback. Will work with team to change it for next datasheet and TRM release.
