I am getting Inrushcurrents during PWM switching with different duty cycles(10% to 50%) in my board and i have tested the TI kIT during switching, it is not getting any inrush currents what may be the possible reasons behind it.

Hello,

1. Is this seen at start-up?

2. is this happening while doing a closed loop/open loop? Good to confirm if open loop is seeing such inrush currents or not?

3. Can you check on the NTC as mentioned by Chen on this E2E, https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000-microcontrollers-group/c2000/f/c2000-microcontrollers-forum/845463/tidm-1000-the-capacitor-c1-on-my-main-circuit-board-blew-up.

Hello,

1. They were seen in the startup.
For this we have used the PTCs in parallel with the Relays. a. Initial high currents passed through PTC ans later the path is through the Relays.

2. In the open loop during switching we have got the Inrush currents.

3. we have not used NTCs.
My thought:- If we use NTCs in series with the phases initial currents were reduced but after some time they got saturated and will not stop the Inrush currents during the PWM switching.

1. Can you please share your schematic privately for review. I still think its related to hardware changes, please do the comparision.

2. Can you compare the PWM waveforms during start-up between TI hardware and custom, so we can elimate firmware concerns.
