TMS320F28377D: Only use CPU1 on dual-core device.

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Tool/software:

Hi champs,

My customer is using dual-core device for applications. However, in some cases he only need CPU1 and he doesn't want to select another device.

If he only use CPU1 on F28377D device, should he brings CPU2 out of reset and let CPU2 does nothing? Or he should keep CPU2 in reset status?

Regards,

Luke

  • Hi Luke,

There should be no reason to bring CPU2 out of reset (or configure it) if only CPU1 is used in the application.

If you were asking about the opposite (using CPU2 but not CPU1), then since CPU1 is the main CPU, you would need to start up CPU1 first in order to configure and start up CPU2. But CPU1 can be used by itself.

    Best Regards,

    Delaney
