TMS320F28388D: Default Boot pin question

Hi,

In the image below, GPIO72 and GPIO84 are default Boot mode pins.

If you look at the controlCARD or the relevant reference circuit, these two pins are connected to separate pull-up resistors and select switches.

The question is, if I use these two pins as GPIO for Boot mode, but as EtherCAT related pins, can I boot to JTAG or flash?

Sorry, there was an error in writing my question.

The customer wants to use GPIO72, GPIO84 pin as EtherCAT.

If I use it as an EtherCAT pin, I wonder if there are any other problems.

Hi,

Please see 'Device Boot Configurations' section of the TRM, you are able to select different boot pins if you wish. You can also have 0 boot pins and select a permanent boot mode.

could you explain in detail how to use 0 boot pin? Also, please explain how to change the boot pin.

There are so many contents of TRM that it is hard to understand.

we are going to use GPIO72/84 as for ethercat and use flash boot.
