TMS320F280049C: Different execution time for two project with the same source code

Hi Lin,

Can you confirm if the optimization levels on both the codes you are testing is the same?

I assume, there might be a higher optimization level selected here.

Hi Uttam,

These projects have same optimization levels selected at level 4.

However, the compiler results are different.

Here is the different assembly code as shown below:

If the assembly code is different, then it should be your 10Khz ISR code difference or any additioanl interrupt causing the increase in execution here.

1. Provide the diff. between both ISR codes to visibly check. 

2. Check if any interrupt is added either in the ISR (or)  if any high priority interrupts added to your code. 

3. Can you do GPIO profiling, to get the accurate execution time here. and capture them for atleast 4-6 cycles and compare if its the same value across project?

++ Also, can you check if you are running this as debug/release.

Basically all of our driverlib functions will have some ASSERT on the input parameters to validate correct inputs. If you are in DEBUG build, these ASSERTs will be included which can add additional clock cycles.

If project is in RELEASE build, then ASSERTs are removed, Which saves clock cycles. 

This might be another reason.
