TMDSCNCD28388D: Ethernet and EtherCAT on F28388D controlCARD

Hi,

I have few questions regarding Ethernet and EtherCARD on this board.

  1. I am trying to use EtherCAT on F28388D controlCARD. How should I start? For etherCAT, does both the master and slaves need to have EtherCARD interface or only one is enough?
  2. I am trying to implement Ethernet-based communication, will I able to implement it on CPU1? I saw lot of examples and discussion on forum, saying that it should be depolyed only on the CM (ARM) core.

    You should follow the instructions in the EtherCAT User Guide document, located at C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_02_00_00\libraries\communications\Ethercat\f2838x\docs

    I'm actually not familiar with 'EtherCARD'.

    We only support Ethernet on the ARM core. You will find examples at C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_02_00_00\libraries\communications\Ethernet\

    Hi Benjamin,

    Thank you for your quick response. Sorry, there is typo mistake. I mean to say EtherCAT. I am going through this document: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_02_00_00\libraries\communications\Ethercat\f2838x\docs, and I will try to follow the instructions discussed on the document. I am trying to implement the EtherCAT with MATLAB Simulink, I have got some helpful documents on Beckhoff website. I am taking help from both these documents.

    Thank you for clearing my doubt regarding the Ethernet implemention on the F28388D microcontroller.
