LAUNCHXL-F28P55X: Understanding the support of Fast Integer Division for newer TI processors

Aditya, sorry about the conflicting information present. F280013x and F28P55x don't have FINTDIV. When in doubt, look at the device datasheet, and look for FINTDIV.

The place where 0013x is mentioned is not the doc. It's a FINTDIV example with CCS project. Are you saying that if I try to run CCS project on F280013x I may face similar problems related to clock? Will this be updated or published somewhere to ensue people get accurate information on this?

So, based on this should I say that FINTDIV is supported only for the following processors F28003x/002x/38x/P6x?

Hi Sira,

Alos the earlier version of data sheet for F28P55x mentioned that FINTDIV was supported which has been removed now. This is also captured in E2E post TMS320F28P550SJ: Fast Integer Division (FINTDIV) support on F28P55x - C2000 microcontrollers forum - C2000︎ microcontrollers - TI E2E support forums. So, I cannot completely rely on device data sheet to get accurate information.

Your concerns are all valid. The Datasheet earlier had errors and has been rectified. Today, the datasheets have accurate info about FINTDIV, so yes, if the DS mentions FINTDIV, the device has FINTDIV.

Which F280013x FINTDIV example are you referring to? Can you please point me to it so we can rectify this?
