TIDM-02000: SiC Schottky Diodes on the Full Bridge

Tool/software:

In the schematic of the TIDM-02000 project there are SiC Schottky diodes parallel to primary mosfets, as you can see from the below figure. What is the function of these diodes? Are they necessary for every design? In TI's different schematics there is no parallel diodes to full bridge mosfets.
