TMS320F280039C: Adding an existing .syscfg file to a new project

Part Number: TMS320F280039C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

I am working with the 280039C launchxl board. I have a C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_02_00_00\driverlib\f28003x\examples\spi working which has a .syscfg file - spi_ex4_external_loopback_fifo_interrupts.syscfg.

I created a new project and wanted to add this .syscfg file. I copied the spi_ex4_external_loopback_fifo_interrupts.syscfg to the new project.

From what I could find this is all I should have to do.

When I open the .syscfg file in the new project I have errors I did not have in the original project.

I do not have this error in the original C2000 SPI project with this bit rate.

Looking at the properties for the C2000 SPI project I see the following:

Where as in the new project I see:

So can you not just copy in a .syscfg file from one project to another?

Brent

  • A little more information. In the C2000Ware SPI project the .syscfg has the 2 PLLs listed. The project I copied the .syscfg into does not have these PLLs listed.

  • Hi Brent,

You should be able to move .syscfg files between projects. Can you ensure that both projects are from the same C2000Ware project and are using the same SysConfig version as the Sysconfig modules do change between versions.

Can you open the .syscfg files in both projects in text editor view and see what the differences are in the top section that determines part number, sysconfig, etc.?

    Best Regards,

    Aishwarya

  • Thank you for the response. The part number and everything at the top is the same when comparing the two text files.

For whatever reason if I open up the original project's .syscfg I can set the SPI baud rate to 234375. The other project I copied the .syscfg into gives me an error.

I ended up doubling the SPI baud rate to 468750 to make the error go away in the project I copied the .syscfg into.

Just weird that the exact same .syscfg would be fine in one project but not the one I copied it into. Using same board, tool version, C2000Ware, etc.
