Hi Folks,
We are developing a new product with MotorControl SDK, and the motor I am driving is drawing slightly more than its rated phase current. It seems that the power factor is lagging more than it should. I used our legacy drive that operates with MotorWare to compare. Here are the results:
Motorware:
110 V RMS Line to neutral, phase current ~2.7A, power factor = 96%

MotorControl SDK:
127V RMS Line to neutral, phase current ~3.0 A, power factor = 86%

Both are using the FAST estimator. This seems to be an angle issue? Could this be related to the tuning of the angle delay compensation. I was also thinking it could be related to a propagation delay in my phase voltage and current sense circuitry, but my current sense propagation delay is only 300 ns. My phase voltage filter pole is set to 550 Hz. I've tried moving the phase voltage filter pole to a few different values, and went all the way down to 200Hz. However, where I have it right now at 550 Hz seems to be giving the best performance. The fundamental frequency of the motor at rated speed is 300 Hz.
Any ideas why the power factor / phase current draw is so much worse? What part of the code base should I focus on tuning?
Thanks,
Ryan
