TMS320F280039C: ADC test via boundary scan , XTAL test via boundary scan

ADC pins are input only so scan will not work if you try to set the output state of ADC pins.  XTAL pins are not part of the boundary scan so you cannot check the clock states of X1/X2 through boundary scan.

I am actually setting the value on the ADC input to 2.5 VDC on the circuit, but my ADC input pin never goes to a high state on the boundary scan. I performed these tests on pins 17 and 18 and 36.

In the XTAL tests, we only check if the relevant pin oscillates above a certain number within a specific time. I can successfully observe this when I run the boundary scan test while the DSP is not programmed or is in boot mode. I am testing it this way, but I wanted to understand it better.

Let me check with design team on the implementation of the analog pins on the boundary scan chain.  I'm pretty sure X1 is also not part of the scan chain but am confirming with our design team.  Expect to have a few day for our design team to respond.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.  The ADC pins which are IN ports would have to be configured outside of boundary scan.  Register GPxAMSEL has to be configured (written in to) for the corresponding AIO or analog input pin.  You will need to write to this register to configure the AIO functionality before running boundary scan.

I understand that I will be able to read the ADC pins with boundary scan after configuring them outside of boundary scan. My expectation is to interpret the voltage value I see on this pin as either high or low. Will I be able to do this, or should I test these ADC channels independently from boundary scan? My test scope is to capture stuck at 0 or stuck at 1 conditions.

If you do not have a way to write in the GPxAMSEL before boundary scan to configure the ADC pins as inputs, then you would have to test the ADC channels independently.
