Dear TI Experts,

May i know how to log CPU register values?

In a recent debugging scenario involving continuous memory refresh, I enabled the appropriate settings but couldn't observe frequent changes in the register values as expected.

To investigate further, I would like to log the register data to a file for closer analysis.

Could you please guide me on how to log the CPU register data into a file or any other way around?

Hi Meet,

What exact CPU register values are you needing to datalog? Have you used the CCS Graph tool? You can store the logging variables in a buffer and use this tool to visualize the data points if you're connected through JTAG.

I want to LOG TBCTR register values.

Yes I have used graph tool but it's not capturing each and every TBCTR increment and decrement counter values. So what do you suggest which logging method I should use?

Hi Meet,

This would be a very hard thing to do as the CPU cannot data log this register every clock cycle that the TBCTR is incrementing or decrementing.

Here are two methods:

Instead, using a gpio to toggle the end of a period, or when a CTR ZRO event occurs might be better way to debug any issues you're seeing.

You can scope out SYNCOUT of certain key events such as CTR=ZRO or CTR = PRD events without an interrupt being generated.
