Hi,

I’ve been trying to set up the USB connection for CPU2, but it’s not working. I tested the code with CPU1, and I can see it connecting in the Device Manager when I plug in the USB. However, when I connect the USB to CPU2, it doesn’t appear in the Device Manager. Could you please let me know if there’s any specific setup required for CPU2 to work with the USB?

Hi Jad,

Are you referring to using the USB peripheral on the F28P65x or the USB debugger connection to your board for CCS? Are you using a LaunchPAD/ControlCARD?

I am using the ControlCARD and I want speaking about the USB peripheral that allows me to communicate with the PC host.

The USB peripheal has to be allocated to CPU2 using CPU1. Are you doing this in your code? This code has to run on CPU1 which configures the Clock, pins and then allocates the peripheral to CPU2. After this , the CPU2 can start using USB.

You can refer the existing dual core example for MCAN located at <C2000Ware>\driverlib\f28p65x\examples\c28x_dual\mcan\ (mcan_cpu1_allocate_to_cpu2) and update it for USB.

I realized that my CPU2 stopped working on the Flash_initModule function after calling Device_init in the main. It give me _system_post_cinit() 0x3FAA42 (an error occured: failed to parse the previous frame FP)

Finally everything worked when I followed the example for MCAN.

I got a new problem with this. In the USB_init the clock is set to 60MHz. When it tries to do so the code stops here.

Hi,

USB clock (AUXCLK) has to be configured by CPU1 . It cannot be done in the CPU2 code.

You will have to move this code on CPU1 to get it to work

Is there a way to set the USB in sysconfig so it doesnt generate this clock configuration on CPU2 in board init.

This needs to be corrected in the Sysconfig to configure clock configuration only in CPU1 context. Sorry for the inconvenince this has caused.

Please use the attached files (usb.board.c.xdt and usb.board.h.xdt) and replace them in <C2000Ware>\driverlib\.meta\usb folder.

Also, you will need to set the context to "CPU2" in the .syscfg file . You can open the syscfg file in text editor and change "--context "CPU1" to "--context "CPU2"

After doing these changes, you can regenerate the code
