Hi,

I want to stimulate reset the MCU (TMS320F280049C) using SysCtl_simulateReset();
But this function is not available in the sysctl.h file. But the same funtion is available in 28002x series.

Is there any function that I can use to simulate reset in my controller? The controller i am using is : TMS320F280049C.

Hi,

This feature is not available on F280049 device. You can use the Watchdog to reset the device on F280049.

Hi Vivek,

Thank you for the response. Yes I can try that.

But do we have any function to simulate the reset? Mainly I want to simulate the POWER-ON reset, using this macro ( SYSCTL_CAUSE_POR ) which is available in F2800x

We do not have power on reset simulation feature on that device. Any specific reason you are trying to do that and not WD reset which toggles XRSn pin ?

I am writing to a FLASH sector while running. and some of my INTI functions use these updated values from that sector. So i want to simulate a reset so, the control reaches to these functions which are above the main while() loop.

Shall I use SysCtl_resetDevice(); instead?

When I am using watchdog to reset the device, I am getting this error :

No source available for "_system_post_cinit() at E:\TI_1260_Workspace\watchdog_ex1_service\CPU1_RAM\watchdog_ex1_service.out:{3} 0x3fb02a{4}"

That is because after reset it's getting stuck into BOOTROM code. When CCS is connected, device boots as per emulation boot. Please change the emulation boot mode to BOOT TO FLASH using "script" option in CCS and then re-run the test.
