Tool/software:
Dear Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am currently working with the TMS320F28335 DSP and have implemented a custom bootloader located in Sector A, while my application is placed in Sector F.
I have generated the bootloader hex file, which is 49 KB in size, and my application file size is 111 KB.
To optimize the use of available memory, I would like to understand how much sector space is occupied by both my bootloader and application code. I am interested in using the map file to determine this information, as I would like to utilize additional sectors as needed.
Additionally, I would appreciate your guidance on how to read the map file, as I am unfamiliar with its format.
For reference, I have included the link to the map files here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BnZux8Cyoto_kWWpjf2M_8d0RoUAkfAY?usp=drive_link
my bootloader memory allocation shows me 31% usage of FLASH A [ my bootloader code size is 49kb]
and my application memory application shows me 71% of usage flash F [ my hex file size is 112kb ]
hen based on what this calculation comes can you please explain me how to calculate memory allocation as well?
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
Dipak
Hi Dipak,
We will not be able to open the link that you shared due to security reasons.
For documentation on the linker map file, please search the C28x assembly tools manual for the sub-chapters titled Create a Map File and Manage Map File Contents.
Thanks
