Acorrding to the description of CLKSRCCTL2 register, missing clock detect circuit doesnt have any impact on these bits of CLKSRCCTL2 Register.

Assume I select XTAL as clock source of DCAN, and the circuit ever detects a missing OSCCLK, PLLRAWCLK going to the system is switched to INTOSC1 automatically.

Can DCAN module still function normally if I do not update the configuration of CLKSRCCTL2 register and do not re-lock the PLL after missing clock after missing clock
detection?

Hi Samuel,

Yes if the DCAN source is XTAL and MCD detected then DCAN will still get XTAL clock no effect to it.

Hi Prarthan,

I choose XTAL(20MHz) as the clock source for DCAN, and set the period of CAN frames to 50ms. When the software is running, I set MCDCR.OSCOFF to 1(OSCCLK Disconnected to OSCCLK Counter in MCD module) through event triggering, the period of CAN frames has changed from 50ms to 500ms. But according to your response，if the DCAN source is XTAL and MCD detected then DCAN will still get XTAL clock no effect to it.This contradicts my test results

Hi Samuel,

We checked that when XTAL is selected and MCD is triggered the clock source for CAN wont be changed.

Can you check on your end for XTAL frequency on XCLKOUT if it has changed after MCD trigger ?
