TMS320F28P550SJ: How many DAC channels does this MCU have?

Part Number: TMS320F28P550SJ

Tool/software:

Hi,

I'm evaluating TMS320F28P550SJ as a candidate for our next product. When I was going through the data sheet, I noticed that some contradicting information on the DAC. Can someone confirm with you whether there are two 12-bit DACs on this chip or one DAC? Does DACB exist here?

Thanks,

Frank

  • Frank,

Thanks for the question, we have recently updated the DS(TMS status) on TI.com to help clear this up.

There is 1 12-bit Buffered DAC: pin name DACA_OUT

There is ability to bring out the internal DAC from CMPSS1 low comparator to a pin: pin name CMP1_DACL

CMP1_DACL was previously referred to as DACB_OUT in the TMX DS, but since this is not a full/standalone DAC we re-named to CMP1_DACL to avoid confusion.

These 2 DACs have different specs in the DS, and use of CMP1_DACL removes the use of the low side comparator of CMPSS1 as well.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

    Best,

    Matthew
