TMS320F28335: External Sync IN

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Tool/software:

Dear Experts,

A controlled rectifier to be controlled by adjusting the firing angle. To do this I want a ramp(PWM counter) to be insync with the respective phase sine voltage, so that a variable can be compared with the TBCTR to generate the firing pulses to the thyristor. I assume the Ext SyncIN is provided for this application and I would like you to confirm this. If it is so, should it be triggered by the rising edge of the zero crossing signal(derived from the phase voltage). If it is not, do you have any other ideas to control the rectifier?

Regards,
Rajesh BN.
