TMS320F280049C: Trigger CLB from FSI RX when receiving a frame

Hi Support Team,

in "Figure 28-2. FSI Receiver (FSIRX) CPU Interface with CLB" in the FSI chapter of the F280049C spec (SPRUI33H), there is a connection from the FSI RX module to the CLB. Four types are specified: FSIRXyDF, FSIRXyEF, FSIRXyPF and FSIRXyTAG. We are especially interested in FSIRXyPF to trigger the CLB when a FSI Ping Frame is received.

Sadly later in the chapter "28.3.3 FSI Receiver Module" there is no hint of this feature. The connection from FSI RX to CLB is missing completely in "Figure 28-5. FSI Receiver Block Diagram" and also in the description. Also I wasn't able to find any more information in the CLB or the SCI chapters.

Is it possible to trigger the CLB directly when receiving certain FSI Frame Types?

Hi Susmitha,

thanks a lot for reply, it's nice to hear that this is possible.

Could you give me some hint where I can find documentation how the CLB has be configured to be triggered when receiving certain FSI Frame Types? As mentioned in my first question I couldn't find the information in the spec (SPRUI33H).

Hi Oliver,

On this device there are actually no connections between the FSI module and the CLB inputs, so it is not possible for the FSI to trigger CLB-based events directly. On other devices there are connections between FSI and CLB. You can see all the connections in the Local and Global input tables in the CLB chapter or the CLB XBAR table in the XBAR chapter.
