TMS320F28379D: TMS320F28379D

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Tool/software:

Hello,

We are developing an application software on TMS320F28379D.

When facing problems, we use this forum to help us solving them.

It is a grateful free-of-charge source of help.

But, it has some pros and cons.

The main pro is that it is free. However, it is sometime long getting relevant answers and most of the time, they are very generic (not directly on our project), so additional and uncertain work is required.

I was wondering if some kind of "TI application engineer" specialized in C2000 could be addressed to solve specific project problems when developing with the TMS320F28379D ?

I imagine this service will not be free of charge. Could I be contacted by someone to get a quotation ?

We are located in France. Do you have some "application engineers" in France ?

Best regards,

François Wallart

  • Hi François, I'm not aware of a paid support model at TI but let me look into it a bit.  I also know a couple retired C2000 experts and will gauge their interest in providing contract support.

Can you elaborate a bit more when you say 'applications engineer' are you looking for more depth on the F2837x device itself (architecture and peripherals) or F2837x in power electronics?

  • Hello Joe,

we wish to communicate with a i2C temperature and humidity sensor (Sensirion). We tried to use the example provided by TI but it did not work.

Moreover, we wish to implement a "watchdog" protection to detect if the uC freezes or is not able to perform all the calculations in the afforded time.

And finally, put in place a kind of "data recorder" to store 16 variables (16-bits) at 100us (depth to be defined according to remaining memory) This data recorder permanently stores data and stop recording if an event happens.

Usage of driverlib (no direct register use) and the graphical IO configuration is a must.

Speaking french is not mandatory but it is a nice to have.

I think this support would take one day  per week during 6 months.

Do you think you could identify some candidates for this job ?

    Best regards,

    François

  • Hi François, I've confirmed TI won't be able to support this case in the way you request but will of course continue to support via E2E.  I have contacted a few contractors that are familiar with this device and asked them to direct message you on E2E if interested.
