TMS320F28P659DK-Q1: Which is better to use, TZ or DE?

Hello Experts,

The ePWM module on the F28P65 provides diode emulation (DE) in addition to the traditional trip zone (TZ). Which function (DE or TZ) is better to use if we want to shut down the PWM output soon when there is an abnormal signal? Also please let us know how to differentiate between these two functions (DE, TZ)?

Diode Emulation Logic is meant to be used directly in tandem with the CMPSS module to determine control of PWM signals. Notice that Trip-Zone module only supports trip signals from InputXBAR and PWMXBAR. You could still route the CMPSS trip signals via the PWMXBAR to utilize TripZone control of PWM signals, however DEL reduces software overhead and provides direct CMPSS to PWM control separate from the typical EPWM/TZ configuration.
