TMS320F28388D: FSI data Transmit data and recive data stop when I run motor.

Part Number: TMS320F28388D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSFSIADAPEVM

Tool/software:

hello TI.

I am testing motor control using FSI.

My processor is 28386D.

My test env is like this:

I am reffered the TIDM-02006-Multi-Axis Dirve Over FSI.

After applying the high voltage of about 300V DC-LINK, if I drive the motor at Node1 or Node2, the communication value received by Lead is fixed and cannot be updated.
Node1 and Node2 were busy sending update data.

Is FSI communication unsuitable for high voltage applications?

thank you for reading.

  • Hi,

What hardware are you using? TI evaluation boards or your own custom hardware?

Do you have isolation and / or differential devices between the lead / node devices?

Is FSI communication unsuitable for high voltage applications?

Yes, it can be if HW is designed properly and noise mitigation considerations are made.

    Best,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin

I am using a custom hardware. The custom hardware reffered TI evaluation board( TMDSFSIADAPEVM ).

The hardware has isolation and differential device.

    I attach my board(PCB)

    FSI hadshake is GOOD,

FSI data is good. but FSI datas stop when I run motor by node1 or node1.

    Why does FSI datas stop?

If do you have other any question, I'll inform you.

    thank you for reading.

  • Hi Kelvin

    I solve the noise issue.

I connect the FSI x3 and Motor shassie.

    like this:

If I have other issue, I will ask a question.

This was possible because you believed that FSI communications could operate at high voltages.

    Thank you.
