TMS320F280039: PSFB DCDC converter CMPSS function question

Part Number: TMS320F280039

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have one question about CMPSS.

I am inputting the 1st current of the main transformer and operating the DCDC SCP using CMPSS.

1. Is there a way to set the CMPSS blank time to prevent the CMPSS from operating due to the instantaneous increase in current when the DCDC is turned on?

2. There are CMPSS_configBlanking and CMPSS_enableBlanking functions in the digital library. Could you please explain them?

Thanks.

Best Regrads,

Sangmo Kim.

  • Hello,

    1. Yes, you can activate blanking of the comparator trip signal using the ePWM event filter at least two clock cycles prior to the PWMSYNCPER signal and continue blanking for at least N clock cycles into the next PWM cycle. The blanking window is configured in the DCFCTL, DCFOFFSET, and DCFWINDOW registers. You can find more information in F280039C TRM sheet in section 20.11.4.2 event filtering, page 2287: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruiw9c/spruiw9c.pdf

    2. a) CMPSS_configBlanking(uint32_t base, uint16_t pwmBlankSrc) function sets the ePWM module blanking signal that holds trip in reset. Parameter base is the base address of the comparator module, and parameter pwmBlankSrc is the number of the PWMBLANK source. The number of the PWMBLANK signal to be used to reset the ramp generator
should be specified by passing it into the  pwmBlankSrc parameter. For instance, passing a 2 into pwmBlankSrc will select PWMBLANK2.

    b) CMPSS_enableBlanking (uint32_t base) enables a selected ePWM blanking signal to hold trip in reset.
