TMS320F28335: Device stuck in reset after power cycle

Tool/software:

I have a TMDSCNCD28335 eval board and I loaded the pin toggle demo program on to it. LED 2 and 3 blink when it is running, if I disconnect in CCStudio it continues to blink however if I then cycle the power only the green LED 1 comes on.

What do I need to do to get the device to execute from flash on power up.

I checked that the 4 dip switches were in the ON position.

I reset the device with the XRS pin while debugging and managed to get the call stack where it is stuck, its at : _system_post_cinit() 0x3FF9FA

Hi Justin,

Did you program your code to flash ?

Is BootMode of the device set to flash boot mode ? Please check the BootROM chapter to see how to set boot mode to flash using the boot mode pins in standalone mode or using Emulation boot options while connected to device using debugger.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me, I was not programming the FLASH. I now see that there are two linker files provided, one for loading for RAM and one for loading to FLASH. Once I switched the linker file the F28 boots from FLASH as expected.
