TMS320F28P650DH: TMS320F28P650DH_SPI High-Speed Mode

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DH
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG, C2000WARE

Tool/software:

Hello, expert, currently I want to use SPI to achieve a baud rate of 20M-50M, the data manual says that to achieve this function requires the above restrictions.

Currently using this development board, can this board meet the conditions of high-speed SPI,

  • Hi Nie,

Yes, the LaunchPad is designed to support these conditions. This requirement to not go past 100pF is particularly important if there are any external capacitors added to the GPIO.

  • Figure 1

Thank you for your reply, I use this process to close loop mode,

    Figure 2

    Figure 3

This is the manual for setting SPI high speed mode,Because the official process is the library function configuration, can not register configuration,The baud rate of 25 MB is configured in SYSCONFIG。

For Figure 3 ,first step I am a SYSCONFIG configuration

For Figure 3 ,Second, in the process of SPI configuration - set the SPI high-speed mode. Is this configuration OK? If not, how to configure it

    Question: Is my configuration correct

  • Nie,

Looks good to me except the high-speed mode enable should be after board initialization in the main function.

However, I would ensure you are using the latest C2000WARE which includes the ability to configure HS MODE in SYSCONFIG itself instead of in the main function. It also includes checks to ensure the clocks are configured properly.

  • Thank you for your reply. I am currently using C2000, version 5.01, because the developers of our project all use this version. There is version correspondence between ccs, sysconfig and C200ware, what should I pay attention to in this version?

I configure the clock based on the clock tree. Is there an additional way to check if the clock is configured successfully?

  • Nie,

It is always recommended to utilize the latest version of C2000WARE because there are constant improvements made to the SDK, particularly when it comes to SYSCONFIG (in this case, the SPI SYSCONFIG), but I can understand why that might not be possible in this situation. Generally, the release notes will include high level information on the changes between versions.

You can check the SysCtrl registers such as LOSPCP and/or probe the XCLKOUT GPIO.

    Best Regards,

    Aishwarya
