TMS320F28069: Does DCA1EVT control both epwmA sng epwmB

Part Number: TMS320F28069

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

According to the instruction manual DCA1 or DCB1, can both Epwma and Epwmb be controlled simultaneously? DCA1EVT should be controlled separately for Epwma. DCB1EVT controls Epwmb separately

  • Hi Anka,

Is the customer asking in regard to using the DC events as OST/CBC trips? Or by using the DC events as DC.force signals?

    • If using a digital compare event as a OST or CBC trip, then the DC event will carry out TZA and TZB conditions on both channel A and channel B.
    • If using the digital compare force events, then the DCA events will force channel A into it's tripped state and DCB events will force channel B into it's tripped state.

Here are some TRM snippets that help explain...

    • Regarding DC events as OST or CBC trip sources:

    • Regarding DC events as force signals:

  • Hi Allison,

According to instruction manual 28069, there are three COMP comparators available. Can they all be used to use numerical comparison events as OST or CBC triggers for both EPWMA and EPWMB to simultaneously block the wave. If possible, can two COMP comparators be used to process the PWM DC module and then set to simultaneously block both EPWMA and EPWMB?

  • Hi Anka,

I'm not sure what is meant by "numerical" comparison events. Please elaborate if you are able. In general, the comparator's COMPOUT signal can be used for any of the DC event paths (DCAH, DCAL, DCBH, DCBL) to generate DC events. Please refer to the TRM chapter diagrams and descriptions for more details on this:
