Hello, Experts!

We are generating CM build images using the ARM Hex utility with the following options:

--fill=0xffff --memwidth=16 --romwidth=16 --diag_wrap=off --boot --gpio8 --binary

This image is intended for firmware updates to the on-chip flash memory.

Below is the block information related to this issue. The length is 2 bytes, and the address corresponds to 0x20082F20 (which pertains to the MSGRAM region).

Could you clarify why the binary image generated via the Hex Utility contains block information related to the MSGRAM?

Additionally, is there a way to remove this block information?

If any configuration adjustments or utility-specific settings are required, please let us know.

When the hex2000 option --boot is used, the hex utility formats the initialized sections of the input file as required by the on-chip bootloader. For general documentation, please search the C28x assembly tools manual for the sub-chapter titled Building a Table for an On-Chip Boot Loader. For more specific documentation, please search the TMS320F2838x Real-Time Microcontrollers With Connectivity Manager TRM for the sub-chapter titled Boot Modes and Loaders.

You are probably seeing the address for a block. Or you might be seeing the entry point.
