TMS320F28069M: C2000 InstaSPIN Universal GUI Connecting to LaunchXL-F28069M

Part Number: TMS320F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F28069M, INSTASPINUNIVERSALGUI

Tool/software:

I'm using the LaunchXL-F28069M for a motor control project. I can use a GUI provided by TI (instaspinuniversalgui_v105.exe) to instrument the variables but can't make any changes to it as it's a binary file.

To customise the GUI, I was trying to import a GUI project into the cloud GUI designer and the closest GUI I can find from the Gallery is "C2000 InstaSPIN Universal GUI". I checked the connection configuration and make sure the device is the same as on the F28069 launchpad, i.e. "Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB Debug Probe". But when I ran the GUI I got connection error: "... Device TMS320F2806xM is not supported". The information in  the manual for the working GUI does say it is for F28049 but I thought it should at least connect as the comms device is the same?

  • Yes. You have to use C2000 InstaSPIN Universal GUI if you want to make any changes. You need to change the GUI as well if you change any variables in the object struct in the project.

Yes. It's for F280049C project, you can refer to it to change the C2000 InstaSPIN Universal GUI for F28069M. If you just want to develop or evaluate the lab, you may run and debug the project within CCS, without using GUI.
