TMS320F280049C: Error initializing emulator: (Error -260 @ 0x0) | Launchxl-F280049C

Part Number: TMS320F280049C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F280049C

Tool/software:

Hello,

I was using the Launchxl-F280049C and the DRV816xEVM. I placed the motor driver EVM on top of the corresponding headers of the MCU evm (J1,J2,J3,J4). I got the motor gui to work to some degree. It then randomly disconnected and stopped detecting my launchpad. I then opened CCS and tried to flash the device but got the error below. I don't understand what went wrong because I did not mess with anything.

Error Message:

Error initializing emulator: (Error -260 @ 0x0) An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed. The cause may be one or more of: no XDS110 is connected, invalid firmware update, invalid XDS110 serial number, or faulty USB cable. The firmware and serial number may be updated using the xdsdfu utility found in the .../ccs_base/common/uscif/xds110 directory of your installation. View the XDS110SupportReadMe.pdf file there for instructions. (Emulation package 20.0.0.3298)

Furthermore, I have another instance of the Launchxl-F280049C. I connected it right after the original one gave me issues and was able to program it no problem. I do however need both as I can't have my team members forever. To add, the device that does not work toggles the reset LEDs while the device that does work does not blink LEDS on boot. I don't think this matters however as the one that has the error had always toggled LEDs on boot.

Will I need to purchase a new one or is something wrong with the XDS110? Please let me know, thanks.
