TMS320F28P650DK: GPIO13 is always high

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD28P65X, SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

Hi TI Team,

Microcontroller Used:

  • uC: TMS320F28P650DK9
  • Eval Board: TMDSCNCD28P65X

Description of microcontroller GPIO problem:

  • The problem is that GPIO13 is always high, even after reset.
  • When attempting to change the state of the pin directly via the GPADAT register during debug,  the state of the pin is stuck at high and does not change.
  • This is also the case when the evaluation board is removed from our custom PCB.
  • This GPIO pin (GPIO13) was used to output the PWM signal of EPWM7B.
  • It appears that the module EPWM7 is working as the PWM signal EPWM7A can be measured on GPIO12.
  • The same problem was observed with another eval board (of the same type), but this time on GPIO15.
  • GPIO15 was also used to output a PWM signal (EPWM8B).
  • It appears that this problem occurs when measuring the PWM signals on an oscilloscope using passive probes.

Questions

  • What could be the cause of such a problem? (e.g. over/under voltage)
  • Is there any possibility to fix this GPIO?
