Do I need to use online Rs Recalculation for a project that is only used for Motor Parameters Identification?

I am porting InstaSpin Lab 5 for Motor ID to new hardware, to have a "simple" stand-alone project that we can use.  InstaSpin Lab 5 does not do Rs Recalc. 

I am also using the Universal Motor Control project as a reference, and this project does have a Rs Recalc call enabled when I have build settings set for Motor ID (#define DMC_BUILDLEVEL  DMC_LEVEL_4).
