TMS320F28035: Will supplying 1.8V to VDD before providing 3.3V to VDDIO cause a failure?

Part Number: TMS320F28035

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

My customer supply 18.8V to VDD , and then after 10us supply 3.3V to VDDIO. They want to know if this timing can be acceptable.

Best Regards

Anka Zhang

  • Hello Anka,

Apologies for the delayed response as the original owner is unavailable. As stated in the datasheet, there are no specific power sequencing requirements between the 1.8V VDD rail and 3.3V VDDIO rail. The digital and analog pins referred to in the highlighted sentence are the functional pins and not the other power/supply pins. As long as no voltage greater than 4.0V (3.3V + 0.7V diode drop) is applied to the other digital pins before all power supplies have properly ramped, then there is no issue with the suggested power sequence timing.
