I am referring to the steps for programming the Ethernet module described in the datasheet:

"

43.5 Programming
The sequence of steps to program the Ethernet module is detailed in this section.

43.5.1 Initializing DMA
Complete the following steps to initialize the DMA:

1. Provide a software reset. This resets all of the MAC internal registers and logic (bit 0 of DMA_Mode).

2. Wait for the completion of the reset process (poll bit 0 of the DMA_Mode, which is only cleared after the reset operation is completed).

"

The first step is the DMA initialization, which begins with a software reset. My problem is that this reset never completes.

Hi Robin Lafage,
I believe the ethernet MAC driver is running in M4 core. What binary did you ruin on C28x core? C28x core is responsible to set the clocks of the peripherals that are used in M4 core and hence the appropriate sofwtware should execute there.
