Tool/software:
Dear expert,
We had a issue. The description is as follow: We use TMS28034 for motor control. The product has been used for a long time. Recently, this product has experienced a chip VDD short circuit problem during use. Could you please help me analyze what are the reasons that lead to this phenomenon? We need to conduct product failure analysis. Thanks!
Hi Yun Long,
Typically we see supply shorts when voltages on the pins or supplies violate our absolute maximum specifications in the datasheet. Some common reasons this occurs is improper power sequencing or voltages applied to digital or analog pins prior to device power up.
If you wish TI to perform failure analysis you can always send the unit through our CPR process which is described here: Customer returns | Additional information | TI.com
