TMS320LF2407A: ADC Grounding & Software Reset

Part Number: TMS320LF2407A

Tool/software:

Hi, we are using the DSP to interface with analog sensors using 6 ADC channels 00 - 05. The rest of the IDC channels are unused and left not terminated. Below screen shot shows the termination. We are wondering if there are any concerns with leaving the unused channels not grounded? Can this have any impact on the proper operation of the used ADC channels? We have seen where that was problematic on a different (similar) DSP we used on a different system, and we are now wondering about this setup.

The follow up question is, if this setup is indeed problematic, could it be rectified by the fact that our code repeatedly issues ADC module software reset (per Bit 14 of the ADCTRL1 register)?

What is the acceptable frequency to repeatedly stroke 'ADC module software reset'?  Is 2KHz acceptable, or could that impose other problems?

The setup being questioned here is generally very reliable. We are only looking deeper into it because in one very rare instance, the digital data as reported by the DSP is suspected to be incorrect.

Thanks!
