Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F280049C, BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS, BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS, DRV8329AEVM, LAUNCHXL-F2800137, LVSERVOMTR

Tool/software:

Which evalaution module do you recommed. LAUNCHXL-F280049C & BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS or BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS — LAUNCHXL-F280025C

Which of the two is currenly recommeded and which will work with the graphical user interface from Texas?

  • Hello Tahir,

The answer to that question most likely depends on the use case. What are you trying to do? Just evaluate C2000 and DRV?

Additionally, which GUI are you referring to, specifically?

  • I want to implement sensorless control. I want to evaluate the control algorithm instaspin so that I can understand and implement it myself easily. I have seen a GUI on TI website where one can give different values and run the motor from computer without changing  the C2000 or MSP software. This is the reason why I am asking for a evaluation module recommedation. The evaluation of DRV is not desired, I understand it, just need to run the motor.

  • Tahir, sorry for the late response. Motor Control SDK Universal Project is supported by multiple C2000 EVMs as well as Motor Drive Evaluation Boards depending on your motor type. The options can be found in table 3-1 in this user's guide (https://www.ti.com/lit/spruj26). For example, if you go with LVSERVOMTR for motor, you could choose LAUNCHXL-F2800137 along with DRV8329AEVM.
