Hello e2e team,

We are planning to start a new project with the F28P65 and intend to use the CLA (Control Law Accelerator). The code will be written in C++, but we need to include some libraries that are written in C and contain .c and .h files. My questions are:

Is it possible to compile a project in C++ when it includes C libraries?
Does the CLA support C++?
Does the CLA need to be compiled as a separate project, or can it be integrated into the main project?
Are there any examples in the C2000Ware that demonstrate how to use C++?
Is driverlib applicable for use with C++?

1.) Here's the compiler support for C++. See section 6.2 Characteristics of TMS320C28x C++, below

2.) For details on the CLA Compiler, see section 10.1 How to Invoke the CLA Compiler

it appears that the CLA compiler only supports compilation of C code.

3.) CLA supported code can be integrated as part of the main application. Here's a link to user's guide: https://software-dl.ti.com/C2000/docs/cla_software_dev_guide/faq.html.You can also test out the examples provided in C2000Ware,

4 and 5.) C2000Ware has not been tested with C++ but user's have been able to support both C and C++ in their application. There are some workarounds needed to use both. Here's an example E2E of some considerations to consider.

The compiler should have built-in support to determine whether the code is written in C or C++. There are pragmas/defines that it will look for in the application to determine what type of code, data types, etc. is in use. (e.g. __cplusplus)

Please look in the compiler directory within your CCS install under tools/compiler to find the source files for the compiler
