There are SPI examples in the C2000ware path: [C2000ware install]/driverlib/f2837xd/examples/cpu1/spi/. C2000ware can be installed from here. I would suggest getting started with these. If you have any specific questions about how to modify the examples for your use case, feel free to reply on this thread.

Thanks for your response.

Actually I do have c2000ware installed (version 5.4.0). And i was referring to the loopback example from those.

Now, my requirement is configuring a SPI device such that the master gets receiving the data from encoder. And we are not using Chip select and MOSI pins.

And I wanted to know how do we configure hem if we are not using them in our application. 

Because we are observing a wierd issue, wherein we see 0xFFFF on MISO instead of the encoder output.

uC <> Differential Transceivers(Max485) <> Position Encoder. This is how our system is.

Please see the following section from the TRM detailing 3-wire SPI modes and how to configure them. To my knowledge the SPI peripheral on this device cannot be used without a CS line connection in slave mode, however I will loop in another expert to confirm.

Hello,

The CS/STE/PTE pins are a requirement for the SPI protocol. Without that signal, comms can never propagate from the master to the slave.
