TMS320F28388D: Clock Signals for SDFM and AMC1306E

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

Tool/software:

I want to measure two motor phases current with shunt and then digitize with the Sigma Delta modulators AMC1306 and send back to the SDFM.  Is there not an SDFM internal clock already?  Do I have to feed an external clock in?

If I have to feed in an external clock, can I use a single ePWM pin on the F28388D to feed to two AMC1306 devices and also feed into SDFM?  Do I need a buffer?

Thanks

  • Hello,

You needs an external clock input on its CLK pin for SDFM ands you can use an ePWM module’s output to feed the same clock to multiple AMC1306 devices and the SDFM. Buffering is highly recommended to prevent loading issues from multiple loads and to preserve signal integrity for AMC1306 devices.

    Best Regards,
