TMS320F28P559SJ-Q1: cannot access to the device memory if the unexpected disconnection happens during flash programming

Part Number: TMS320F28P559SJ-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Expert

Customer report if they disconnect the device from host PC during the flash programming process, there is the possibility that the device memory cannot be programed anymore. Could you please help to check the issue can be reproduced in your side, how it happens and is there any workaround to prevent this issue?

Thanks

Joe

  • Hi Joe,

    1. Are you able to do an 'Erase' operation for the device through the On-Chip Flash tool?

    2. Are you able to provide a dump of the Flash Memory through CCS? Do you see any possible corrupted memory locations within the dump or from memory browser?

    3. Is there a belief the disconnect happened during writing OTP Flash?

To prevent this issue, it is best to not disconnect while a power down state is present during Flash operation.

    Thanks and regards,

    Charles
