TMS320F2800157: Sensor Less BLDC/PMSM Motor Control

Hi,

We are starting a new BLDC motor control project and am looking for a TI Controller which can do Sensor less control for BLDC/PMSM motors. I would like to use the TI's InstaSPIN FOC/MOTION. Does F2800157 have the required hardware capabilities to run InstaSPIN ? does it have the stack in ROM or will i have to use the SDK. If this is not the right one to start with, which is the appropriate alternate part.

Note that i did not want to go for the previous generation parts.

Need this information sooner. Thanks in advance

For sensorless motor control examples with F2800157, we recommend you to refer to the universal motor control lab solution in the motorcontrol SDK.

But i need to freeze the part. Does it have the stack in ROM or do i have to SDK.. I prefer to start with the part which has the stack in hardware, otherwise want recommendation for parts which has them in hardware. I did lookup and understand that F280039C, 25C, 49C etc., have them in the new gen parts. Please confirm.

Hi San,

You may use F28004x and refer to the solution "boostxl_drv8320rs" where the FAST library is on ROM.

For newer generation devices (F280039, F280025, F2800157) with universal motor control lab, the algorithm library is on Flash memory. For FAST observer, the detailed implementation is hidden and you call the APIs for computation. For eSMO, the detailed implementation is public.
