TMS320F280049: I have a question about I2C speed.

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Tool/software:

Hello.

There is information that the I2C speed of TMS320F280049 is supported only up to Fast mode, but I wonder if Fast Plus mode is not supported.

When I set the I2C speed to 625kHz and looked at the waveform that operates, I was able to measure that the I2C clock was output at 625kHz.

It is clearly stated that High speed mode is not supported, but I wonder if it means that Fast Plus mode (~1MHz) can be used, but should not be used if possible.

Or, I would like to know if it was upgraded but the datasheet content was not modified.

Thank you.

  • Hi,

The C2000 I2C officially supports up to Fast Mode (400 kHz). While you've observed operation at 625 kHz, Fast Plus Mode (1 MHz) is not officially supported and it's recommended to avoid using speeds beyond the officially supported modes, as they are not guaranteed to work reliably across all operating conditions, temperature ranges, and production units.

    Best Regards,

    Aishwarya
