TMS320F28379D: DMA with McBSP, replacement for SCI

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have been working with the TMS320F28379D device using SCI on CPU 2 for some communications at 3.125 Mbps. However, I would like to completely avoid having to use CPU 2 and believe that utilizing DMA with CPU 1 would be sufficient. I read that the DMA does not support the SCI peripheral so I have been looking at the McBSP peripheral as it is supported by DMA. Can anyone help confirm if it can work to emulate UART using the McBSP on this device at a similar speed? I need to emulate the start bit, 1 stop bit, and a parity bit. Ideally I would test this on a board, but I do not have any boards that gives me physical access to the McBSP pins.

Thanks.
