Hi,

I want to design a on grid solar inverter with MPPT, Battery charger for battery storage system and support for both AC grid and AC load at the same time. My question is that in the TIDA-010938, can we use separate MCUs for MPPT and boost converter and inverter sections respectively? If so, can I use MCUs from ST, Renesas, etc?

Please reply

Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi Ajay,

So currently in TIDA-010938, all power stages are implemented on a single C200 MCU, with all control loops, MPPT, PLL, measurements etc implemented with a utilization of only ~35% (39C) and ~25% (P55) leaving a lot of headroom for more functionalities. Yes, it is also possible to use separate MCUs. Is there any particular reason why you want to move on to two separate MCUs?

In C2000WARE-DIGITALPOWER-SDK Software development kit (SDK) | TI.com, you will find the code already implemented for TIDA-010938 in well-defined labs. And if you have any other questions regarding this, you can get back to us!

    Thanks,
